We announced today that our opening day, originally planned for Friday, November 18, will be rescheduled to Saturday, November 26. “Park City Mountain is dedicated to providing our guests the best early-season ski and ride experience,” said Park City Mountain’s chief operating officer, Bill Rock. “While unseasonably warm weather has not made it possible for recent snowmaking operations, our team is ready to fire up the snow guns at every opportunity as weather gets cooler. We look forward to opening as soon as we feel we can provide our guests with good quality snow conditions.”
According to Open Snow forecaster Evan Thayer, the forecast looks to shift in favor of skiers and snowboarders, including a cold storm later this week that leaves us with “decent accumulations possible in the mountains”. He adds, “We finally have a long-range outlook that features good news. Additional storms are possible through the end of the month.”
“It’s important to remember that during the 2008-09 season, Park City Mountain rescheduled opening day to after Thanksgiving and ended up with 444 inches at the Jupiter snow stake. The average at that stake is 357 inches,” Rock added.
Time to book your lodging reservations!! Walk to the lifts from Old Town Guest House, Park City’s only Bed & Breakfast. We are also the best for budget travel. Can’t wait to see you!!!
There’s a lot of people here who devote their days to making your time on our mountain as memorable as possible. Our day is made when we see someone in Kids Signature link their first turns, a family laughing over hot chocolate at one of our on-mountain restaurants, or someone hollering with enthusiasm on a run through the trees. But getting recognition from the industry’s biggest ski and snowboard publications is pretty cool too – so you’ll pardon us if we brag on SKI Magazine naming us one of their Top 5 Resorts in North America once again. But there’s more where that came from…
In a survey this summer, SKI’s readers evaluated every resort in North America across a variety of categories – and turns out we did pretty well. Our recognition included:
“North America’s #1 Most Accessible Resort” “North America’s #1 Resort for Off-Hill Activities” “North America’s Best Terrain Parks” “North America’s #2 Resort for Family Programming” “North America’s #5 Overall Resort”
Thank you to all of you who voted for us in SKI’s survey – we look forward to seeing you again soon. If you haven’t been back to see us in a while, we hope you come back soon and see what all the buzz is about!
