Sundance Film Festival Lineup Announced
Sundance Institute announced a few days ago the lineup of films chosen to screen in the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions for the 25th Sundance Film Festival. In addition to the four Competition categories, the Festival presents films in five out-of-competition sections. In case you forgot, The 2009 Sundance Film Festival runs January 15-25 in Park City.
According to Geoffrey Gilmore, the Director of Sundance Film Festival, this year’s films are crossing boundaries and blurring genres, creating an emotion-laced and energetic Festival that brings a whole lot of new ideas. John Cooper, the Director of Programming indicates that independent film is moving in the direction of purposeful and inclusive storytelling.
118 feature-length films are selected to premiere, representing 21 countries and 42 brand new filmmakers. To see the list of what will be playing visit the Sundance website at: www.festival.sundance.org/2009/
