One of America’s premier bike races comes back to Park City when we host the Tour of Utah’s final leg on August 10. This will be Park City’s fourth year hosting the Tour’s climactic stage, a grueling test that throws 20 percent grades at riders before they cross the finish line on Historic Main Street.
Lower Main Street takes on a carnival atmosphere for the big day as kids cover the homestretch in chalk drawings, bike fans watch riders make their way toward town on big screen TV’s, restaurants and bars serve Park City’s summer enthusiasts and visitors of all kinds line the route’s final hundred meters to cheer the field across the line.
In the heart of all the action is our own Town Lift, loading and unloading right on Lower Main and running through the summer! Jump on Town for a scenic round-trip ride with a one-of-a-kind view of the course; ride up and hike directly back down to town; or get motivated by the race competitors and ride up with your bike to enjoy some of our trails!
Summer’s flying by faster than you can say “hot dog with mustard” – which means the Park City Kimball Arts Festival is just around the corner!
Every year, for a weekend in August, artists from around the country and the world come to Park City and turn Historic Main Street into a combination gallery and bazaar of sculptures, paintings, photographs and more – all in the shadow of Park City’s beautiful peaks. It’s a fantastic time to be in town, whether you’re here to add to your collection, just stroll the exhibits or simply grab a table at one of any number of restaurants’ outdoor decks and people-watch.
But if you want to experience the weekend to the fullest, you need to make us part of your festival schedule – and there’s so many ways to do it!
Stop at the bottom of Main Street for a scenic ride up and down Town Lift – our chairlift connecting downtown Park City directly to one of our peaks.
Or get over to our base area – just a few blocks away – and take advantage of over a dozen summer activities going on; including our alpine coaster, alpine slide (one of the longest in the world), our zip lines, Adventure Zone and Little Miners Park.
If you’re feeling adventurous, or just want to work off the amazing meals, rent a mountain bike or grab your hiking shoes and hit our hiking & biking trails – we have more than 70 miles of them! And with a variety of terrain, we have something for virtually any ability level.
Catch the high-flying action every summer weekend in the Flying Ace All-Stars Freestyle Show presented by Montage Deer Valley. See Olympians and National Team skiers and snowboarders perform acrobatic feats as they soar up to 60 feet in the air before landing in the Park’s 750,000 gallon Aerials Pool. A great show for the whole family, this half-hour choreographed production will leave you breathless!
